Montauk Beach Property Owners Association

Beach Party August 5th 2018 was enjoyed with a great turnout

This summer's beach party was a big hit once again.   With Saturday rained out, the weather cooperated on Sunday and we had a spectacular day with plenty of sunshine and loads of community spirit.   We had plenty of yummy food, games for all ages, the very popular sand castle contest,  face painting, and live music thoughout the day.  This year we added a magician who not only entertained the audience with this skills but with his humor too.

The food was as tasty as ever, with hot dogs, pulled pork (Herb’s Market), fried chicken (IGA, Amagansett),  corn on the cob (Montauk IGA), and watermelon and cookies for desert. Thanks to the face painting team for their oh so creative work; to Julia Prince and Carter Tyler for organizing the games; to Sharon Sennefelder for arranging for all the prizes and selling the raffle tickets; to Carole Shurman for taking such fabulous photos; to the Gentner Family for all the runs to pick up the food and drinks;  to Bob Mulligan, our Board President, Lili Elsis, and Ed Gentner for manning the check-in, selling logo merchandise and prize tickets; and last but not least to Bob Shurman for leading the overall organization of the event.  Thanks to our crazy hot dog cookers, Ric Kallaher and Bob Restivo; on corn duty were Brian Harris and Gerry Boyle & family; and to Iris Mitchell and the entire the food crew who all chipped in to help. We hope we haven't left anyone out. It takes a lot of hard work to set up and transport all the stuff down to the beach, and then take down and clean-up, so thanks to all who helped out.  That's community at work folks!

Summer 2018 Beach and Highway Cleanup Schedule

Your help is needed to keep the beach and Old Montauk Highway clean

Did you know that one Saturday a month you can help ensure that Old Montauk Highway and our lovely beach will be clear of litter? We really need members to volunteer once a month to come down to Webster Beach and participate in the cleanup. You know the saying "Many hands make light work"?  So we need you! Mark your calendars for the 2018 dates.

You may have noticed the new signs that announce the clean-ups, posted at each parking lot several days before each event. These are removed afterwards and re-posted when keep an eye out. When you see them, the clean-up is the upcoming Saturday.
Meet at 9AM at the Webster Beach parking lot on:
  • Saturday, June 2
  • Saturday, July 7
  • Saturday, August 11
  • Saturday, September 8

We wish to thank all the volunteers for keeping the Old Montauk Highway litter free. Your efforts are very much appreciated by the community.    When you give a little time you are really helping to keep Montauk beautiful. Plan to join the crew in 2017 and give your Association one hour of your time for a better Montauk.  Any questions, contact Bob Restivo.

The 70th Anniversary party celebrated at Montauk Downs on July 21, 2012

Members, family and friends enjoyed a fun evening to celebrate the 70th anniversary of our organization, which was held in the Montauk Downs banquet room. The hors d'oeuvres were absolutely delicious, and we danced to the music of the "Three B's."  The late afternoon sun provided a wonderful setting out on the deck, with gorgeous views overlooking the golf course.

See the slide show below.
